Costumer Critiques
Though not specified as such on the cover this budget priced release on the Spectrum Music label (a division of Universal) is a compilation of previously released tracks from Katherine's six album deal with Universal Classics. Compilations of course getting the only way the label can continue to profit from her lucrative 5 year partnership with them considering that her choice to leave and continue her profession with the Warner label.
Of the fourteen songs, 5 are from Premiere, one particular from Second Nature, one from Living a Dream, three from Serenade, two from Rejoice and one particular from Sacred Arias. The exception is a variation to the album version of Somewhere over the Rainbow - the 1 here is a live recording from a 2009 Friday Night is Music Night concert.
So this 2011 release delivers nothing at all new to the Katherine Jenkins fan apart from a completely different version of Over the Rainbow, unless of course the four page biography reveals something new about the singer which we don't know currently, and not surprisingly it does not.
The appeal so is to those who do not own the back catalogue and basically want a Best Of Katherine songs. For this purpose Sweetest Appreciate perfectly complements The Ultimate Collection which presents the later albums whereas this one particular leans towards the earlier years of her recording profession.
There are anumber of female singers who have aquired the term 'voice of an 'Angel',but Kathrine Jenkins unquestionably deserves it for her singing on this album...wonderful.The Total Piano Accordion Tutor
